The plex traffic won't go through the vpn, but myplex is encrypted anyhow. Continue this thread I keep that off the VPN with Plex on it. Within that machine on a virtual box, I have xubuntu with the VPN and the couple of things I really don't want made public and the VPN. I turn on the vbox a few times a week, do what I need, then shut it down.
